I love thunderstorms, but this was a bit too much!

I got an hour of overtime and a cloudy head today. The reason - our office building was struck by lightening during short thunderstorm some 40 minutes ago. It knocked out power briefly, damaged office net, almost killed my monitor. It took IT 40 minutes to get everything back working. And nearly deafened my colleague - he was closer to window and blinded me for a few seconds. Flash was amazingly bright - I even remember a moment where blinding brightness got replaced with total black! and then it took a few minutes until all spots were gone from my vision.

This is the third time in my life that a building I am in is struck by lightening. Once our apartment building when I was a child, once in summer camp - in the middle of the night, we all were terrified!, and now. Here is to hoping that there will be another 10-20 years before it happens next time.

I wonder, how often it happens to other people?
